Boys 2009 were finalists in this weekend’s Encinitas Cup tournament. The defeated City SC Carlsbad 7-1, NFFC black 2-0, and SDSC Surf white 3-2 to win their bracket and advance to the championship game against Pateadores blue with a 3-0 loss. Great effort and hard work boys! Great job.

Karla Aida Chairez Martinez (AKA Karlita) has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. Her parents signed her up in order for her to be involved in an extracurricular activity and to help her with her asthma. Karla loved soccer the minute she began to play. She fell in love with the sport and she found her passion. Karla played in the Ramona Soccer league each Fall season since she was five. She continued in middle school by joining Intra with coaches Becky and Gabe Ocampo. In high school, Karla played her four years. She then enrolled at San Diego Miramar College and played with the Miramar Jets. At Miramar, she was scouted by a coach from Nebraska. She was asked to join their team. Karla is now attending York College in Nebraska. She is a member of the Women’s Soccer Team, the Panthers from York College. Her positions will be Center Midfielder. Her major is currently neurology/ pre-professional biology. Go Karla
