Dear
Players and Parents,
Welcome
to the Ramona Soccer League! I want to start by giving a big THANK
YOU to all of the volunteers that make the league possible. We have many
new faces on the board this year and are very excited in the dedication of each
of our board members. Our soccer board members are dedicated parents who put in
long hours before and after the season to make all of the soccer activities
come together. Our coaches are also parent volunteers who are the key to
putting the teams onto the field. Be sure to thank the board members and
coaches when you see them.
Make
sure to visit the snack bar this season it is a great way to support the Ramona
Soccer League. If you are interested in working at the snack bar this season (ages
14 and up) can sign up for 90 minute shifts to earn $10 per shift. Please see
Condie or Jennifer Granados to sign up.
In the
recreation division, we have had a large turnout this year with over 500
players on almost 50 teams. There are a lot teams practicing, so the
fields are crowded. It is critical that we all work together so that
every team gets the time on the field that they need. Cal South also
requires for coaches to have at least a YM1 or YM3 license. The league
sponsored a YM1/ YM3 class in August with 32 coaches attending. Over
time, having better trained coaches will improve the game for all of Ramona
Soccer.
This
year we have 9 competitive Intra teams with the addition of a new boys under 13
and boys under 10 teams. The teams have been competing in tournaments
during the late summer and are starting the Presidio league games in late
August and early September. If you can, get out and support these teams
whenever possible.
Our adult
league continues to grow. The Co-ed division started a 10 game season of
Sunday evening games on August 28th with 4 teams. Come out on Sunday
evenings and cheer them on. Games start at 6:00 p.m.
Thank
you,
Becky
